Interesting question surfaced today here in the valley of the sun.

When you cold weather affectionado's get your door locks frozen do the keyless entry systems still work correctly? Or do you have to do the de-icer/cigarette lighter things anyway?

Keyless entry still works but sometimes the door seal is frozen to the cab and you still can't open the door without lots of force.

Yea, laugh it up desert dweller. Just remember, if we didn't get so much snow north of you, you wouldn't have much drinking water. :( (Actually, I'd rather be where you are right now. )

The remote door locks still work, but there are days when it sounds like the door seals are ripping right off.

We learn not to wash the truck too late in the evening, otherwise the door will freeze shut!

now, now, now let's not be bitter you of the northern climes. remember we earn our currently 64 degree days by paying the price of the summer triple digit temperatures.

but, hey, at least we don't have to shovel the sunshineOo.

I've found appling either silicone or Aerospace 303 protectant to the door seals in the fall usually prevents most of the sticking door seal problems related to ice/freezing in the winter.
