You shouldn't really have those problems(everything stiff and making noise) at your temps. My steering doesn't even get stiff. Now that I think of it, it doesn't really get stiff at all, even when I was out in the -55 the other day. The clutch on the other hand gets stiff at about -30 and the brakes are really, really stiff at -40. I put the brakes on at that temp and they take about 5 to ten seconds to release. But where you are at you should have none of that. I run stock fluids in the brakes, clutch and steering pump. Don't know what to tell you tho.

We've got these disposable hand powered suction units that we use on the ambulance. They kind of look like the style used for brake bleeding. Well I just attached an O2 tube and this gets in all the way past the inner componets inside the reservoir. I got several pints out before needing to dump the cannister. This gets the reservoir bone dry. Then just add the PS fluid and drive to circulate thru the pump and repeat the flush. It took 4 flushes to get back clean fluid.
