She's a Work In Progress yet guys. . . not quite ready for the unveiling just yet. But soon I hope. Real paradox, I've been a photographer all my life, managed a photolab for the last 22 years. Like the plumber always has leaky faucets. . . I'm not up on digital photography. Am required to carry a camera in event of an accident while loaded. If I ever have to send in accident pix I'll have to send the whole dam camera to them. Good grief!

after I do the "stacks" and hauler bed.



Admittedly, when you run with these guys you develop a few idiosyncrasies.



I don't get home often, expect to have wireless internet soon. Then can try and bone up on digital photo.

Matt, here is a third one you don't seem to be getting my tongue in cheek comments. Missouri sucks when compared to Maui. I would be living in Maui right now if it wasn't for all of the animals I own. Wife does not want to deal with moving them all, but someday I will be there. Matt you are very considerate of your potential occupants, because I have ridden in the back of a 2003 3500 and it was not that bad. Now the back seat of a Lexus is more comfortable but that would not keep me from getting the Dodge CTD. Good luck

I'm a guide & I put people in the back seat of my 03 all the time. To try and answer your question directly the longest I've had people in the back seat was 4 hrs. That was a mother & two medium to large teens. I have had 3 larger men in the back for 1. 5 hr. In both cases there was nothing but complements. One of the tricks that I have used is to move the front seats forward while keeping enough space to be comfortable for the front occupant & therefor giving more room to the back ones. Also trying to put the smallest of the persons in the back in the middle. You've taken a bit of good natured kidding in this forum, I know my first was just for fun. We all have different requirement in the decision making process of buying a new vehicle & where we live does have some bearing as to what we may chose. For instance I live in northern NH. , where the winters can be slippery at times, & being a guide I go on "Rd's. " that are less than shall we say interstate quality. For those reasons I would never think of owning anything but a 4x4. , & to me and my needs Dodge met the requirements. A larger, longer, wider turning radius, vehicle wasn't the answer & Dodge was. It had the best of all the worlds combined. In my opion. That's as much as I can offer in the way back seat experience. I drive it, not ride it.



In addition { on a lighter note again } I still think that FORD stands for



Formally Old Restored Dodge !!

I'm 5'11'' and spent 4. 5 hours in the back seat coming back from an offroad trip the 4th of July weekend. I caught a cold and just wanted to ride home and not drive. I was comfortable. The front seats were not all the way back but about 3/4 of the way. (Where I have the driver seat when I am driving)



The rear seat is not as soft or comfortable as the front. But much better than some other vehicles I have ridden it.



No complaints from me or the 3 people that rode 4. 5 hours both ways with me.

I usually have the back seat up and the folding floor out with a big dog bed on it for, Woody, my Golden Retriever. He has ridden in the back for 7K miles and has never complained. He weighs 80# and has 4 medium length legs

I'm not a big fan of the new QC, but I don't like the SD Ford at all.



I understand the need to add a B-pillar in the new QC, the old style sucked in frontal impact tests since the roof collapsed and folded without the support of the B-pillar.



The old style without the extra door handle just looked like a cleaner design. The door handles are another sore spot with me. I think they should have been flush mounted on the '03.



The back seat sits to upright for adults, and I don't like that there are no headrests for the rear seat passengers. In an accident their heads will smack that back window and it WILL hurt.

You don't like the handles on the Dodge? When I was considering a new Ford PSD one of the things that I REALLY hated was their cheap *ss flip up flush mounted handles. So much so I was looking at other vehicles from Ford to see if something could be retrofitted. I ended up buying the HO Dodge. I really like the beefy handles of the new Dodge.

Have you checked at how much more room it takes to turn a Ford around than a Dodge? Well at least with my 2001. Has the new running gear changed any of that over the Dana setups?

Thanks for the comments. I really appreciate an owners point of view. I'm going to get a new 3500 HO Cummins as planned. Just didn't want to spend the next 15 years saying 'I should have gotten a bigger cab'. I've thought it has taken them long enough just to get a 3500 as opposed to a 2500. As for a large turning radius... . I never get lost. On an island, you'll eventually pass it again! Either way, isn't that what 4x4 is for? I also can't wait for the new lockers to come from AAM.

Quarantine has just been reduced to 5 days. Also, look around before you move. The average house price climbed by $100,000 in the last 18 months. There is nothing on the island (not even a total fixer-up-er) for under $300,000. Jobs aren't that great here so most people have 2 or 3. But you can't beat the weather or the scenery.

The 03 QC still under turns a new 3/4 ford extensively. I didn't measure the difference but there is an Obvious difference. A buddy of mine who eats, sleeps , drinks & poop's fords got one & was giving me a hard time until we put the two together. First it was the motor & how loud his was,& how quiet the Cumins was,{ he is a power stroke die hard } & then it was the turning radius, door handles ect. I could go on & make an extended list but this should suffice.

As far as the back seats being to upright for adults, I don't concur. For myself I want the straightest & most upright seat I can get. On the drivers seat I put it in the most UPRIGHT position. My back doesn't like to lean or be tilted, if it is then it HURTS. The comment about the headrest are RIGHT ON. Those in back are likely to get their heads smacked in an accident

I agree with Wayne about the most upright position when driving. I have found, on long trips, that my back and legs feel much better when using that position.

I often use the fully reclined position at the Mall waiting for my beloved to finish pawing over every item there .

I also concur about the rear head rests.

I have a CC Chevy and have looked at the Fords CC as well. The Chev is definately the roomier truck in back but, for anything but cross country jaunts with six footers back there, the QC works great. The slightly shorter bottom cushion actually fits my kids better than the bigger Chev, ie; it is actually more comfortable for any but the tallest humans



You will not regret the new CTD for sure. It "feels" much better to me than either the Dmax or 6. 0L. Besides, you have to be nuts to buy a new 6. 0 until they get them fixed.

Ok, this is MRS Matt S. Lets set the record straight.



I just want to say that Matt IS and always was going to buy a Dodge, so there is no need to PANIC. He is a Dodge guy through and through so don't you worry about a Ford. We were both just disapointed in the cab configuration of the Dodge, as compared to the Ford. We wanted to know if people were happy and comfy in the back seat. Thats all. I repeat- We are still buying a Dodge.



Yes, we do want a truck and not a car, but our truck is our primary mode of transportation, so we want something thats comfy, tough as nails, and can fit a carseat- get my drift???

Matt, just got back from a 5100 mile trip. Texas, Colorado, WY, MT, ID, OR, NV, AZ & NM. Wife sat in the back all the way and put the grandkid up front. She liked the back seat better and loved the windows you can see through and that role down all the way. I assure you she controls that side of the pickup seating . By the way the trip was 3 weeks long. She also has back problems (c6 in her neck/back replaced a year ago). She does really like the way it sits and rides.



However I found the front drivers seat not to be as confortable as my Y2K was. ???????

I posted in 2002 that if Dodge copied the 1500 in making the 2500/3500 QC (4-door), there was no way I would buy one. Well, I test drove Ford, Chevy (not that I would ever own either) and Dodge and look below. We have a 2500 QC SB 4X4 and is it sweet. I have ridden in the back seat behind the driver and had plenty of room and was comfortable. It's like driving a sport car, agile and peppy.



For those of you considering the Chevy and Ford: I hope y'all the best of luck with those engines: Get the extended warranty and don't even upgrade the cigarette lighter and don't tow a pound over any limits. You should be fine.



As for me, Forever Dodge/Cummins.
