Hi all,

After seeing Heather of Rickson Truck Accessories post on a recent thread about 19. 5" wheels, and Rickson's wheels, I sent her a PM asking about the several posts regarding the seeming unavailability of the 19. 5" tires, especially the 285 series, which is what I want since I want a 35 - 37" tall tire.

She responded almost immediately and explained that as we can all imagine, Rickson is at the mercy of the actual tire manufacturers, since they don't make the tires themselves, and for whatever reason, the various tire companies just don't make a constant supply of the 19. 5" tires. For example, right now, the Michelin XD2 in the 285 size is completely back ordered in the US. The Bridgestone M-716 in the 285, there are a total of exactly 4 available in the entire US right now, and not one of them is in the same location!

She told me she would be happy to keep me informed as to the exact availability in any 19. 5" tire I would like, and tell me when any particular ones are available.

Now, how's that for customer service!!! A vendor joins the TDR, Heather has a total of 1 post as of this moment, and I PM her, and she responds immediately with such information and an offer to help me in my search. Mighty darn  :D if you ask me.

Good thing I am not in immediate need of the 19. 5's or I'd be a bit more  as Whitmore and a few others have been or currently are, waiting on their tires to become available.

Thought I'd share the information with you all, as I know many are interested in the 19. 5" wheel/tires, and this is not an issue that will affect only Rickson customers at the moment, or likely for the indefinite future.

Thank you Heather!!!

Tom

I did receive my tires and wheels from Rickson and am very happy with them, it took a total of 59 days from ordering till I got them. I never did hold anything against Rickson but I just plain wanted them, I am very impatient when I want something :D If you plan ahead for them and know what to expect for delivery than its kinda like ordering a new truck :D

Cheers, Kevin

I know that in the motorcycle industry we're having a fit trying to find tires. I've heard a multitude of stories as to why this is but they all keep coming back to a steel workers strike against the tire manufacturers that started back in the spring. I don't know if it's resolved yet.

19.5 tires

when looking for 19. 5 tires, I reccomend your local commerical truck tire dealer. they would stock them for the service industry, such as package vans etc etc. good luck Ian:D
