I have been reading on the FS2500. As a new CTD owner, I want to protect mine and make it last as long as I can. Is the FS2500 worth the money? I intend to run all synthetic fluids - any negative effects on synthetics? How often will I need to change oil and filters?

And the biggest question I have is, how much does it cost to get one? I have emailed the company from their site 3 or 4 times and have yet to hear back from them... is their customer service so bad that I ought to just forget it and look for something else?

It's hard to tell if it's worth it, my oil samples came back better but not as good as my 12v samples. I think it was around $500 and the filters are around $25 each. Try the web site fs2500filter.com. Thats where I get my filter from.

How about Amsoil's bypass filter?

This is my first after market (Amsoil EA 100 kit) by-pass oil filter and extended oil change experiment.

Using fresh Amsoil 15W40, I put 6700 miles on it, then sent a sample to Blackstone.

The sample report said "Everything is fine and to put another 5000 mi. on it and then send in another sample. "($32 + postage)

The thing I like most about this, is not only fewer oil changes, the oil analysis also gives you good info. on internal eng. wear, fuel contamination, etc.

I'll post back on this, after my next sample results.

I have the fs-2500 and my uoa from blackstone come in good condition so far. I have had great customer service from filtration solutions. It did take a couple of days on a email I sent. Phone calls have been great.
