many of us use fuel additives and I am not trying to get the merits of that started.

What I want to know is many of use purchase by the gallon. It's very hard to dispense small amounts from a gallon container and many of us don't want to carry a gallon with us.

What type of smaller containers are being used to carry in our trucks for use when we fill up.

I've been using a Rubbermaid product to carry my Shaffer's but I'm not very comfortable with that. It really gums up and I wonder if the rubber is breaking down (probably not).

Ideas on what you use and where you purchased it would be appreciated.

I just use a one quart Cheveron Delo bottle & I have it marked on side of bottle how much I want to use per fill up. The side of the bottle has a sight glass on the side so you can see how much is left in the bottle. I have used same bottle for 4 years with no problems.

I use a quart bottle from the Lucas additive. It has the oz. right on the side. Same bottle from 2001. I buy my additive in a 5 gals.

My neighbor gives me his depleted Redline additive bottle. Whatever is in PS turns that bottle to a gummy mess within a few treatments. Thanks for the Delo bottle idea, thats great!

I take an empty pint or 20-oz water bottle, let it air-dry upside down for a few days, and then fill it with the appropriate amount of PS. If going out on a long trip and/or towing, I might pre-fill several of them. Been doing it for a couple of years now with no problems. Sometimes refill the bottles, sometimes toss them after use.

Depending on the amount...

Depending on the amount used or needed, what about using one of the large stabil bottles that you squeeze the propper amount into the top reservoir then dumping it in. Just a thought.

I've tried them but with the tube they take forever to refill unless someone knows a better way, I pour the product in, then have to tilt it and squeeze to get the air out, I can get one only about 1/2 to 2/3 full and it takes quite a while but I'd use them if I could fill them quicker

I just bought a 16oz (4 oz increments are marked) tupperware style bottle and a long skinny funnel at Walmart.

Why doesn't PS have a long funnel neck on their bottles similar to the Chevron Techroline or other fuel injection system cleaners?? Don't they know how people use their products?

This is a great idea! Thanks. With a water bottle, you don't need a funnel. And its sealed really well when travelling.

I mix a cocktail for my truck, not for me i'm the designated driver! (roll your eyes) I like troubleshooter use a 20 oz bottle. juice bottles have to be washed but are sturdier for repeated use. i put in the proper amount of ps for 20 gallons, 5 or 6 oz. of mm and fill the container up with ashless 2 stroke oil. if one is good three has to be better right? When i set down to do it, i do 12 to 15 bottles at a time. i bought a plastic container about the size of a half case of beer about the same depth and put them in that . if they leak they are contained. I can put them on my back carpet without worry. but i never had one leak. robert

My friend had the same problem. I found a chainsaw pre mix (2 stroke) oil container in his garage that had a second chamber in it , squeeze or tip bottle to fill, It worked perfect for him

I use an MSR Fuel Bottle that I got from Rei.com (look in the camping gear area)

Aluminum with o-ring cap. They will not leak. Available in 11, 22, and 33 oz. sizes.

thanks to everyone for their replies, I found Red Line makes a diesel fuel catalyst bottle that is clear and long necked which when empty will work well, the water bottles are a great idea too and I will look at a Rei.com to see if it has a sightglass that you can see how much you are putting in. for Firefighter 2000 the stabil bottles will work good as I looked at one and it has 2 lids, one to dispense whatever amount you need and one to refill into, the bottle I was having trouble refilling only had the dispenser lid and to refill was like pushing water uphill, thanks again everyone for some great ideas, that's what's great about TDR!!!!

I use OPTI-LUBE summer formula. 1-1/4 oz. for 25 gallon of fuel. I picked up about 1 mpg hand calculated. Cost is about 65 cents per 25 gal. fill. If I am going to be in snow country, I add the recommended amount of HOWE’S with the OPTI-LUBE.

To store it, I found I could fit it into the driver’s side map pocket.

SMR aluminum 11 oz fuel bottle.

I found a small 2 oz. aluminum measuring cup and store it in the cut-off bottom of a fuel additive bottle with ¼” steel plate glued to the bottom to keep it from rolling around + a small roll of toilet paper to wipe out the cup and any spills. It all fits in the map pocket on top of shop rags for a good fit. I have included a picture of the map pocket.

I also use a 33 oz. SMR bottle with bubble wrap with a couple of tie wraps put around the bubble pack loosely without cutting off the ends so it will not roll around when put under the back of the driver’s seat in my quad cab.

I buy OPTI-LUBE in gallon jug, then fill the above containers for convenience.

YaahBut,yaahBut... What do you guys use to knock down that 1-5 gallon mother can into the smaller ones? Gravity or some kind of pump? NO SIPHON FOR ME, thank you very much!

The first round I bought a case of quart bottle of Standyne Performance. Used all that up and then bought gallon jugs of it and refilled the quarts.

I use a Wal-Mart measuring funnel. I don't have a picture of it but it is a clear funnel with graduated ounce marks and a shut off on the bottom. It has a 16" clear hose with a plug that will fit into the filler neck. I pour from a gallon the correct amount in ounces and then stick the tube into the filler and twist the valve and it drains in. It has a cap for the funnel and stays fairly clean.

That's what I do and it's worked pretty good for a number of years except the first round I bought the 16 oz bottles and now just buy a case of the 1/2 gallon jugs... ...

I use a small container and add the right amount for 1 tankfull. (which is different amounts for summer & winter adtives) That way I can just pour at the pump. Refill it once home and be ready 500 miles later... .
