I had run stanadyne in my 6. 7 L Preformance formula one shot mixed with lubricity formula now I am reading in issue #58 you cant run it due to the emission s system I have have 4400 miles on the truck in the past 6 months and I had no problems engine runs great only had 1 code on the MIL go off for the turbo boost, reflash done no problems ever since I been running stanadyne in the last 14 trucks without any problems I think its great stuff unfortuantely I gave the case of preformance formula away and lubricity formula away this evening after reading this article WHAT GIVES Stanadyne states thier product is designed for ULSD Matt 2007. 5 laramie QC dually 4x4 leer cap putco mud flaps and bores door handle and tailgate trim navigation moon roof factory steps go rhino hitch step MBRP cool duals:rolleyes:

You screw up your practical collector. You are not to add anything to 07 trucks. :eek: This from Carson Dodge "Dodge has notified us that absolutely NO fuel additives should be used on the new 6. 7L engine due to possible contamination of the emission components that make up its new "clean diesel technology". As you may know, the Dodge/Cummins 6. 7L is the only vehicle currently on the market that meets the EPA's 2010 diesel emission requirements. "

So is Dodge gonna come give all us cold weather boys a tow every time we gel up on the side of the road? Didn't think so.

There HAS to be some form of accepted additive to prevent gelling in the winter. Not everybody has access to #1 Diesel, not to mention good luck finding #1 ULSD.

I currently run Power Service additive in my fuel tanks (I own a truck stop) that is designed to blend with ULSD reducing the cloud point, etc. for winter use. I chose this option over blending with #1 because most of my customers prefer it. Cheaper and much better fuel mileage than a typical 70/30 or 60/40 blend.

If Dodge is going to say we can't use ANYTHING to prevent gelling in cold weather they need to pull their head out of their you know what. ;)

For the money we spent for these trucks I hate say this I would be better off with a hemi I see no advantage to owning a diesel truck with fuel in NY @3. 75 a gallon and regular gas $3. 20 agallon I dont see prices going down diesel is going to hit $4. 00 were I live ,the owner of Hess tells me ,and it is pretty bad when diesel shops are saying the same there is no advantage for a diesel pickup anymore for the reason is sky rocketing fuel costs and strict emission laws, resale value means nothing when you pay 6to8 thousand dollars more for a diesel motor I am in TOTAL AGREEMENT WITH POWDER EXTERME D/C NEEDS TO TAKE ONE OF THIER TRUCKS AND USE IT TO PULL THEIR HEADS OUT OF THEIR A-- WHEN IT COMES TO ADDITIVES I AM GOING TO CALL MY DEALER WHEN I GEL UP AND SEE WHAT HAPPENS:-laf MATT

I called my Cummins northwest a few miles away from here and asked them what to do about the cold weather also..... They said that in the new 6. 7 you CAN run power service ARCTIC EXPRESS... . Its strictly a anti-gel only... They said that is safe to run as well as any anti-gel only product... . Just make sure to read the bottle carefully

Maybe your dealer will tell you to Buy a Hemi!
 
Howes is also for ULSD if you do as the bottle says if it freeze up thay pay the tow. I have been using it from 98 to today. The 89 has 600,000 miles same fuel pump replaced fuel injectors tips at 500'000 had cummins check out the pump they said it was in top shape.
 
All oil comp add antigelling in the winter. All you need to do is add a little antigelling Howes is a verry good one a lought of trucking comp. use it. If you live in the very south use as it says for winter.
 
Can anyone show me ANYTHING in writing from Dodge or Cummins that says "DO NOT USE FUEL ADDITIVES IN THE 6. 7L"? The owners manual says that fuel additives "ARE NOT NECESSARY". Talk is cheap! If it is so darned important, why haven't we been notified in writing? :confused:

There is no way for us to give you reassurance about aftermarket products. We have no idea what effects they will have on the engine. Espicially regarding additives we don't know what chemicals are in the additives and we don't know what happens when they burn. We neither approve nor condemn the use of any aftermarket product. Under normal circumstances we do not believe additives are necessary. Because your product is warranted by Dodge not Cummins it would be best to verify all these details with them.



Cummins designs and supplies the Cummins 6B5. 9 and ISB 24-Valve turbo diesel engines to DaimlerChrysler, however, DaimlerChrysler warrants the diesel engine and truck completely, as a package unit. Cummins, Inc. and authorized Service Providers cannot provide warranty coverage on Dodge Ram trucks powered with Cummins diesel engines, since all warranties are handled by the Dodge dealers.
