Engine/Transmission (1998.5 - 2002) fuel additive question

Can someone tell me which is better, Stanadye or Power Service ? Pricewise, PS is about $8 for a 32oz bottle that is supposed to be good for 100 gal. And I get Stanadyne for $12 for a 16oz bottle that is supposed to be good for 60 gal.



If I do my math right, thats about 8 Cents/gal for PS and about 20 cents/gal for Stanadyne.



Also, can any PS users tell me what the difference is between Power Service Diesel Kleen, and Power Service Diesel Fuel Supplement ?

My personal preference is Lucas Fuel Treatment. It's about $23. 00 per gallon @ almost any truck stop, but it treats 400 gallons. That's about 5. 75 cents per gallon. My big truck loves the stuff. You can definitely tell the difference when you're running it and when you're not.

Thanks, thats helpfull. Im leaving on a trip in mid sept Seattle to Minnesota and back so Ill have plenty of opportunity to stop at truck stops and try some of that stuff out.

I use PS, but can't comment on whether it's better than Stanadyne. I use it simply because it's the easiest for me to get. Walmart sells it by the gallon much cheaper than the parts stores do by the quart.



Diesel Kleen seems to be the same stuff as the Fuel Supplement, but one doesn't have anti-gelling agents, so should only be used in summer time if you plan on taking it anywhere cold. It says on the bottle. . back I think. I want to say the silver bottle is the summer formula.



I see you are in Seattle, I'm in Tacoma, and do switch to the winter formula, but it's probably not all that critical here with it only getting into the 20's on very rare occasions.

im in california and the power service products are still not back on the walmart shelves just checked today. DOes anyone know whats the deal with walmart. By the way the power service diesel kleen boosts cetane # by 6 and the fuel supplement boosts by 4 but as mentioned has the antigel for cold weather.
