CMH Industries Inc. Presents:

CA-40 Fuel Additive

Click Here To Buy Online!!!

We now recommend a treat rate of

1 ounce to 15-20 gallons of fuel!!

What does CA-40 fuel additive do?

It saves you money by:

- Increasing Fuel Efficiency

- Improving Lubricity

- Reducing Harmful Emissions

CA– 40 has been tested in fuels including:

- Gasoline

- Bio-Diesel

- Diesel

- Ethanol Fuels (E-85)

I call BS, until someone proves me wrong. The clincher for me was the "add it to your crankcase" bit. Fuel and crank case additives are two things that should remain seperate, IMO.

Well I'm not afraid to loose $30 (+shipping) for a quart to test this stuff so I just ordered one. I went all over the site and it looks/sounds real to me. I like the tiny amount that it takes and I love what they say it does for lubricity. It all sounds too good to be true so if it's a scam I have been scammed but if it's not then I'm really glad I saw this thread.

Better mileage, more power, less emissions and awesome lubricity - SWEET - Holding breath, crossing fingers, legs toes and hairs...

MSDS stuff

So, I went looking for the MSDS sheet on the stuff, located here if anyone wants to check it out:

http://www.shopfuosv.com/ca40g/ca40gmsds.pdf

In the US, the ingredients are as follows:

<table>

<tr>

<td>Name</td><td>&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;</td><td>CAS number</td><td>&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;</td><td>%</td></tr>

<td>Calcium sulfonate oil soluble</td><td>&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;</td><td>Trade secret. </td><td>&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;</td><td>30 - 40</td></tr>

<tr>

<td>Castor oil, sulfated, sodium salt</td><td>&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;</td><td>68187-76-8</td><td>&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;</td><td>3 - 5</td></tr>

</table>

Not that I really know what that means, but I'm curious if someone else does. In other words, people who know something about the chemistry of fuel and additives, should this work? Just curious and bored at work

Be sure to fill us in on what you find.

Let us know how it works. It would be nice to see a product that actually lived up to it's claims.

Okay Gents,

Let's keep any posts relevent to the discussion of this product. Cute comments, snide comments, quips about hottie's don't cut it.

Thanks.

One thing JUMPS out at me... "sulfonate" and "sulfated"... was there a disclaimer against using it in 2007 and newer rigs???

Sulfonate and sulfated indicate (to me) an addition of sulfur at some level, and we know what that means... its a no-no in 2007+ rigs...

Guys... ... .

Just because it says Sodium that doesn't mean it is like table salt

hydrolysis product of sulfated castor oil

Functions as a surfactant (just as in gasoline additives) to increase nucleation of fuel particles to help make a more complete combustion reaction (less unburned fuel).

YUP - just like "Silicon" in an oil analysis doesn't necessarily mean "dirt" - chemical Silicon is an oil additive component for controlling oil foaming - and many oils have several PPM of Silicon right from the bottle...

Kioho - - What else would it be - - sodium salt is not a listed chemical name but Sodium chlotide is (NaCl) - - - but it wasn't the sodium part I was worried about, but it was the Chloride part. Now if it works, and doesn't corrode the fuel system, I'm all for trying the stuff - - - but remember "if its to good to be true, it probably is. "

Castor oil sulfated sodium salt, is all one ingredient.

In the chemical world nothing is as it seems.

You can take to very bad things and react them and end up with something no where near as bad as the parent chemicals.

I really have nothing in this stuff LOL.

Just stumbled onto the posts.

Well my first test didn't show any improvement but it was a less then perfect test so I'm not giving up quite yet. The reason it wasn't a great test was that I put some fuel in out of a can that was left over from removing my aux. tank when I quit driving OTR in June. My guess is that there was 1. 5-2 gal. in the can. Calculating for 1. 5 gallons I showed 19 mpg running around town and one trip into the mountains for a total of 340 miles. Next I filled up and put about 2 Ounces of CA-40 in and ran 367 miles and got 18. 92 mpg filling at the same pump. This was also the same town driving and another trip to the mountains today just to duplicate conditions as best I could. So that says it did next to nothing. If I did get 2 gallons out of the can on the first tank then it did improve a little but no where near 10%. I used to get 20 or close to it around town but that was 266k miles ago before I went OTR. I have new 215 injectors on the way so I hope that brings it back up. We need to do some testing in my Dad's Honda Accord. I will keep playing with it and keep you updated. It's hard to test when I'm not putting on a lot of miles anymore. I read in some other forums where people were seeing the stuff work supposedly so who knows.

Talked to a trucker when I filling on fuel. He was adding some concotion to his tank so I asked what he was using. CA40 was his reply. Then he went on to tell me he is seeing about 1. 5 miles to the gallon increase. From around 6mpg to almost 8 mpg towing the same loads over the same terrian. Don't know first hand if it works but I'am thinking real hard about trying it.

My dad took a trip this last weekend of about 180 miles one way in his '91 Honda Accord. He filled before leaving and put no CA-40 in the tank. He then filled when he got there and added the additive, drove home and filled again. He showed just shy of a 2 mpg increase. I don't remember the exact numbers. I have it in my truck again but my testing is all screwed up because I just changed injectors.
