I used to believe this also. Now, I’m not so sure.
This is my ‘14,View attachment 126157
and I believe the idle hours are not accurate. I’m the original owner and I do not idle the truck. This truck has been plagued with emissions issues.
This is my ‘14 work truck,View attachment 126158 it has never had an emissions issue. We have a handful of these trucks at work with similar hours/miles and not one has had an issue. All these trucks run the same additive, Powerservice white bottle.
Wow, that is a lot of idle hours.

Personally, I think using high idle at warm-up when the engine is cold is much better for it. Especially for those of you that use 15w-40 oil.

It gets the oil and the fluids moving faster. It gets lubrication to where it belongs quicker.

I wish UConnect had a way to engange High Idle when remote starting. That might make it a little more worthwhile.

Still not worth it, IMO. Even when it was free I didn't bother with it much. Half the time, the truck wouldn't start due to no signal if it was cloudy, if you were near or, especially, under a tree or if a bird flew over and flatulated.
My 2020 does have a high idle on cold start. It kicks in after a minute or two.

I use to drive dump truck for the County years back and about 2010 the shop told us not to idle since there was un-burnt fuel build up that would damage something (don't remember).

From what I understand, some (many) of the older diesels would have a bunch of fuel leak past the rings and into the crankcase. Crankcase dilution can cause problems. Wet Stacking is no fun either, from what I understand. Dunno. I never had the problem but many of the older engines did

CP3 and CP4 refer to the model of the Bosch high pressure fuel pump.

You want a CP3 equipped truck.... That means don't buy a 2019 or 2020 as those are the ONLY years that RAM used the CP4 pump.... Which can fail and destroy everything downstream (injectors). They say they have a "cure" in the works but no details as of yet.

2003 to 2018 have the CP3
2019 to 2020 have the CP4
2021 onwards have the CP3 (after they realized they made a huge mistake going to a CP4)

Any diesel can experience wet stacking, even HPCR's.

Cummins defines anything over 10 minutes as excessive idling. That's 16.6% idle time.

3-5 minutes is what the recommend in cold weather.

Go with OptiLube XPD... It's better than Stanadyne.

Is this the optilube you were recomending?

Looks like according to their site that XL has more lubricity additive, I was going to get some and add it to the tank on that 2012 that I am working on (purging the unleaded out) so maybe the XL would be better?
