I think the list more reflects availability. Most truckers will use about a gallon at a shot,I can't see many of them carrying around a case of gallons that they had to order from afar. Power Service is carried at every truck stop that I've ever looked at.

So, which one is the best?

Okay all we have talked about using additives and their effects? Next logical guestion; how many have not used additives or very seldom and had no apparent injector or pump problems? # of miles without using additives. If used very little; how often and what brand? Thought might add this to get a well rounded answer from both perspectives. #ad

From Chevron;
"Aftermarket Additives ; It would be convenient for the user if a finished diesel fuel could satisfy all his or her requirements without the use of supplemental additives. Although this is most often the case, some users must use additives because the low temperature conditions in their region are more severe than those for which the fuel was designed, or because of other special circumstances. Other users feel that they need a higher quality diesel than regular diesel. And, finally, there are users who regard the cost of an additive as cheap insurance for their big investment in equipment.

A large number of aftermarket additive products are available to meet these real or perceived needs. Some are aggressively marketed with testimonials and bold performance claims that seem "too good to be true. " So, as with any purchase, it is wise to remember the advice, caveat emptor – let the buyer beware"

Bill, "to meet these real or perceived needs" My reason for the LE product is mostly because it makes the Cummins rattle much less when cold. My daily drive to work starts uphill with a stone cold motor. I don't know if the LE is really helping cold engine wear, but it IS helping me feel a lot better because it purrs up that hill rather than rattle like a bucket of bolts. Those cold engine sounds to me are like a baby crying to a mother, I can't stand to hear it struggle up the hill when cold without the LE additive. The Stanadyne did't do that like the LE does...
