Fuel Additives

I tried one brand for quite a while, and my engine seemed to run smoother, easier (I know subjective ), but I changed brands for a while, and the only quantative thing I noticed was a drop in fuel pressure. I changed back to the original brand, and the fuel pressure went back up (though not to original levels) and the engine was quieter, smoother (again with the subjective :-laf )



Why???, does one brand seem to do this over others. By the way both were popular, well used brands?



I know this is a subject similar to auto tranmissions, oils, radiator screens, etc. by why would there be the subjective (though noticable to me) as well as quanatative differences (fuel pressure for one). also one brand advertises a cetane increase and the other doesn't, and it was the one that doesn't that seems to make the engine quieter, smoother?



Also never ran without an additive, enough potential issues with fuel pump (24V) and after years here, it seems 24V LP needs all of the help it can get :{

i don't no but i always run lucas fuel additive because its a great lubricant. heck i almost kept up with a srt-10 on the way home today (almost). it seems the more oily the fuel additive the more my truck likes it and it quiets her right down. i run it for 3 tankfuls straight then skip 2 tanks and start over again.
