Fuel cut off at WOT?

I have been having a problem with fuel cutoff lately. It is not consistent and tends to come and go. I was in higher elevation/lower temp settings when it first happened. In 1st-4th under WOT at approx. 2650rpm I would have almost a total power loss. Pulls hard then hits a wall and at around 2800rpm it would pick back up. Since our recent cold spell it has been doing it on and off again. No codes whatsoever. Power the rest of the time feels fine and 5th/6th pull strong to governer. I'm baffled.



Approx. 20,000 miles ago I had the transfer pump replaced (in-tank style, no problems)



Truck has 198k.

I would guess that you are running out of fuel. I put a fuel pressure gage on mine a while back and found with the stock lift pump my fuel pressure went to zero at WOT. I have a BDDL and fuel box but still stock injectors. With your bigger injectors I would bet that is the problem. I went with a FASS and that cured the problem

Any idea why it wouldn't be consistent? I noticed when I had the Quad box on with the larger injectors I would hit a quence point, so to speak, where I couldn't draw anymore fuel - ie, The 60hp, 100hp and 130hp setting all felt the exact same, but it didn't feel as if I was running out of fuel, stayed smooth, but could have used more fuel. It now feels like the pump has momentary narcolepsy

Could the fuel pressure relief valve cause symptoms like this? Maybe the valve is opening and you are loosing rail pressure? I seem to remember reading something similar to this on another thread...

I have the same thing happening:

Inconsistent cutting out of the engine.

It is progressively getting worse all the time under WOT throttle conditons.



I have a FASS... 19psi even at WOT.

I've seen this alot, and it seems to be how the CP3 pump dies... .
