So I'm pumped! I have my new CTD (new to me) hooked up to my 35' fiver and rolling down the highway thinking how sweet it is and how good it's pulling my 11,000lb rig for the first time.

The cruise is set and I'm cooking along at 70 and 2900 RPM when it starts loosing power. I finally limp it into a roadside rest area and let it cool down a while and shut it off. There are no warning lights on so I check for codes and see a "Fuel Delivery Error Code".

After about 10 minutes I fire my beast back up ad take off again. I get about 25 miles and it starts wimping out on me again. Fortunately I was close enough to ease on to the campground. After unhooking the rig I went and bought a new fuel filter and installed it hoping that would solve my problem.

Coming home today the truck performed flawlessly so it appears that the fuel filter was the culprit. :D

I guess my question is, could this be a warning sign of a weak lift pump or can I relax and be content to make sure I have a spare fuel filter with me from now on?

Thanks for your thoughts,

Exactly what code did you get?

If your lift pump is mounted to the back of the filter canister, you probably want to think about replacing it. Even more so if you're running a performance box.

Okay, Here is what I found on the Bully Dog site. I have no idea what it means, maybe sombody can shed some light.

"O2 Sensor Circuit No Activity Detected (Bank 1 Sensor 3)"

Thanks in advance

Yes, the overdrive was off and tow/haul mode was ingaged to keep the tc locked up. There are some good hills between there and the house and I thought it would be better for the 48re with it locked.

After searching these forums I find that a lot of people tow with over drive engaged. This gen 3 and 48re is a totally different animal than my old generation 2 truck. I'm still learning this new truck.

When I got the P0148 code this summer in PA, it happened after a long pull uphill. When I got home to NH I took the beasty in, and they replaced the fuel pump with an in-tank model. That solved the problem. BTW the work was done under the powertrain warrantee.

If changing your filter solved the problem, you might have gotten a load of crap fuel, and clogged up the filter. Its hard to believe that an '07 would have a fuel pump go that fast.

I'm hoping the fuel filter solved the problem for me. I'll know by the end of this weekend since I'll be pulling the rig again for a family outing. If it's a sign that the lift pump is going, I'd rather find out now then when I'm out in the middle of nowhere with the fiver behind me.

I'm keeping my fingers crossed!
