By turning the stock diaphragm to the "richest" position, you are allowing the guide pin to extend farther out at zero eccentric travel or no boost, as well as at full travel or max boost. This results in increased fueling from the low-end, through high-end. Basically, what this does is allows for more fuel per pound of boost, and a bit more fuel/power on the top-end. You will most likely see increased smoke in low/mid range, and increased boost on the top end. To reduce smoke on the low-end, you can turn the star wheel counter clockwise in 1/4" increments to increase spring preload, which reduces the amount of fuel per psi boost, to a point. Then, you can have more power, while keeping smoke to a minimum. Make sense?
