RV275 are said to improve mileage due to the design using 8 smaller ports instead of 6 larger holes like the stockers. plus 40-50 horespower, same goes for EDM some say in the smaller sizes if you keep your foot out of it. but there considerable more expensive than the RV275 by Bosch.

I think that if you got the edm injectors in the stock size that it would improve the fuel milage. They improve the fuel milage with big injectors, so I don't know why they wouldn't for a smaller set.

Wbusa hit the nail on the head.

The honed injectors up to about 100hp (stage III) seem to improve mileage w/o too much smoke.

The EDMs atomize the fuel better. So you get bigger, faster, injectors that burn better.

JBlock, I just visited the Wildcat web site your sig links to... just FYI, that's a software company. Maybe we're talking 'virtual' injectors, here? :D

12v?

How about the 12 valvers? What injectors would help mileage? I've considered the Bosch 300s, but haven't seen many people comment on them. Everyone seems to like the flow and price of the 370s. I'm really not into smoke and would like to do more with less. (I know it's un-American, sorry). :(

TIA,

Hvy

It wildcatdiesel and they gone out of business, to hard to compete with ebay on the injector sales. It must of happen recently. I fix it

Hey guys have ya tried this,,try putting larger diameter wheels and tires on the rear of your truck and smaller ones on the front, you will always be going down hill which will defiantly improve your milage,, Oo. Oo. Oo. Oo. :-laf :-laf

How about a bottom fuel feed... Drill a hole in the bottom of your tank and let the fuel come to you instead of sucking it out. Increases your fuel pressure and gets the air out of the system.

OK, so, I've decided that injectors... either Bosch 215s or DD2s... will be my next fuel economy mod (still waiting for Piers to respond to my e-mail asking his opinion). After that, I figger I'll take The Beast down the road to Diesel Injection here in Pittsburgh and have 'em tweak the pump timing (doesn't sound like a job I want to do myself). The dataplate on the engine says 12. 5*, but I get the sense that most TDR folks favor about 15*. Would that be my best bet for best fuel economy with these injectors?

FWIW the OEM 24v injectors have 7 holes. Do the RV's really have 8? I thought they were 7 also.

The Bosch 300's are not all that great of an injector IMHO. They do not have as good of atomization as some of the other injectors and for that reason I would not consider them a fuel economy improving injector.

Let the cummins sit in the garage and drive a VW diesel! I see over 48mpg!

I'm with you. My wifes Jetta gets over 50mpg. Great little car.

The cheapest thing you can do is to pump up the tire pressure. If you haven't checked tire pressure lately you might be running soft. There should be a noticable gain by getting the pressure up to snuff.

My best gains, in mpg, came when I had a bed cover installed. Highway mileage went from 21+ to over 24. It's exspensive but the gains are there.
