Engine/Transmission (1998.5 - 2002) Fuel & Emission Throttle position sensor

I have a 1999 Deisel 5 speed extended cab. My mechanic told me I need a new fuel & emission throttle position sensor. Has anyone else had problems with theirs? Does anyone know anything about upgrades for this part? When I'm driving mainly at low speeds it acts like it's in neutral sometimes. If I let off the gas and press the pedel down twice it will resume to normal working conditions. Any info would be appreciated.

I had a problem like what you are talking about , on this truck it is a 2001 modle, this truck would perform as you said and the APPS has fixed the problem, Hope this helped. Harv
