Engine/Transmission (1998.5 - 2002) fuel filter 98.5 24 valve

Is the procedure for changing fuel filter on 98. 5 24 Valve same as 2000 model? use 1 1/8 socket, drain b owl, etc. I am new to the 24 valve and have not changed a fuel filter yet. thanks to all.

Look at filter if it has two brass plugs its the same as a 99 if not ask some one , if like 99 nut on top center holds it on back it out rotate bole after removing wire hook up water in fuel sensor Drain small amount in to clean dish plate pan your choice to check for water dirt metal etc. replace filter O rings replace filter tighten tighten bolt on top loosen brass plug front one turn key to on pump will run two seconds air/diesel will come out of loose plug Bump but do not start more air /fuel will come out tighten plug after all air comes out Bump and let pump run will run 26 seconds try this two or three times ,then try to start with some help with the accelerator half or more on while cranking will run and shake but will smooth out when all air is out . If no start bleed injector lines easy ones to get to two or three. tighten and try to start may take some time to start Charge battery and don't grind starter more than 15 second at a time Or more than three times in one min with out a two min rest .
