Leather shift boot replacement?

My 2012 has been stored and used little for the past two years. There is only about 2,500 miles on the fuel filters (I have engine mounted and the optional Mopar Severe Duty filter under the frame rail). The filters are about two years old.

I am familiar with the 15,000 mile interval, but wonder about time.

Any need to change them?

I have stored the truck with a full tank of fuel and added fuel stabilizer.

Thanks!

Thanks. Additional info: ran the truck to as close to empty as I could cautiously do so to consume the tank of stored fuel. Truck ran fine; not hauling or towing on highway getting 17 mpg to 18 mpg - consistent with prior experience for truck.

I would personally change the filters.
Me too. As a matter of process. I pretty much use miles not time for filter and fluids EXCEPT when storing. Can't look in the rearview mirror on this, but changing oil and fuel filters before storing AND after. Fluids setting long periods of time, like oil and fuel, impurities and water can separate and settle, causing harm to sensors, gaskets, etc.

Having served in the military for 30 years, I had several experiences with storing and transporting vehicles. Toughest lesson was Toyota 4x4 shipped to Iceland. Traveling by ship through the Arctic Circle, fluids settled, separated, and moisture in fluids froze, corroded and pitted bearings. Lots of work to get right. After that, ALL NEW FLUIDS AND FILTERS before shipping AND all new fluids and filters when received.

Sorry for the long post, but it's real and expensive the lesson I learned about changing fluids and filters.

Cheers, Ron

Truck has not been stored, it is my daily driver with 7200 miles on the fuel filters in the past year because of covid. Oil and fuel filters show about 50% on the EVIC. Oil w/filter will be changed, on the fence about the fuel filters. What say y'all, looking for opinions

Just as good a reason to change the fuel filters as the oil and oil filter after a year.

comrade - if it were me, i would change the filters. and the oil. especially if the truck was stored outside. what i have learned over the years, is if any vehicle is stored outside, change oil annually no matter what. if inside in stable garage/shop you can double the change interval. just my .02 cents as a carpenter with 9 cars/trucks. yes i have a problem. :) cheers all!

Last night, I looked up maint schedule on my 2017 Ram 5500 and its 15K miles or 12 months change for oil and fuel filters.

Not sure what your OM calls for on time for your truck.

I just changed oil and fuel filters and found when I pulled the fuel filters we could not tell the difference both were pure white looks like every other oil change mite work ????

My choice on changing oil - oil filter - fuel filters is once a year or 12K, whichever happens first! It's not worth risking any issues. Reasoning on doing all at same time is that you're already there and you can keep better records of when everything is done. I could probably go 2 to 3 oil to fuel filter change since fuel for the truck goes in transfer tank first which has water separator filter on it before it goes into truck. Fuel should be filtered pretty well before it hits the injectors! Little extra cost but well worth it! Plus with tank, allows me to buy fuel when I find at good price!

How many miles since the last change? What date were they last changed.

I do 7500 mile oil and 15000 fuel filters.

I go 15k or one year. Still under warranty. I do analysis every change to cover warranty.
You do what kind of analysis on fuel or fuel filters???

That was what he was referring to, fuel filter change.

But, aside from that, your oil analysis won't sway FCA much on a warranty claim.
