I do the oil every 6 months. ( I probably drive the truck 9000 miles in 6months, on average) and just replace the fuel filters when the system reminder lets me know.

years ago we changed our fords over to a 10 and 2 filter system to protect the injectors, when I moved to Dodge trucks... and there have been a lot of them over the years... I moved the filter systems to the Dodge trucks.. We drove them over a lot of miles and I know that we changed them once a year... usually in the 35 to 40K miles per year... we never had a problem and quit checking for water after the first 18 months... no water, why check them... We NEVER HAD a 2 micron filter plug up or create a problem... BUT the filters we were using were at least 2x's the surface area of the ones my new has on it...

When we moved to the 6.7 we did the same thing, and never had the early injector problems the dealers said was the fault of bad fuel...

With all that said.. I'm going keep extending the service numbers.. I'm currently at 25K miles with no problems... I do buy OE filters only for this truck..

You said you had the fass system in your truck I have the same I changes the fuel filter on a regular basis, you should not be getting fuel through the water separating filter, open the drain on the filter only water will pass through, you should also replace it if water is coming through or follow the instructions from fass and wash it out with gas, I use white gas to clean mine. I also replace it every ten filter changes. Have been doing this since 2001 when I bought the truck lots of miles no fuel pump or injector problems.
