Does anyone know if the fuel filter heater (round disc about the size of a hockey puck above the fuel filter) is fused?

Where is the fuse located if there is one - (not in the fuse box on my rig)?

What should the heater element resistance read?

Mine appears to have gone bad but want to make sure before spending $100 plus with Dodge. SLC Dodge dealer says they fail after 300,000 plus miles . . .

No fuse per the 89 FSM I have, I'm sure it is protected by a fusible link. You should have power when the key is in the run position. The manual doesn't list a value for the heater, but it does say it has an internal thermostatic switch that controls the heater, it cycles as needed.

Update . . . the upgraded part from Dodge does not fit - fuel leaks out all over the place! The part supposedly has a Fleetguard number on it but Fleetguard website search is a no hit. Original part put back in after cleaning. Resistance checked with a Fluke at 20F - 74 Ohms - full voltage at the plug connection. Oh the joy of driving these wonderful old rigs!
