I was returning home from a recent fishing trip and noticed that my engine would feel like it was slipping, almost. My first thought was the clutch was going out, but the slipping was sporatic. I am wondering if I got some bad fuel. How do I drain the fuel filter without letting air into the system?

i think your 2k is the same fuel filter canister as my 01, if it is the only thing you can drain is the filter canister. there is a black handle on the lower front part of the filter canister, this is where you drain water out of the separator but it will also drain the whole canister. after you empty the canister, just bump the starter once (don't start!!) and allow the lift pump to fill the canister back up:p

It has been my experience that just bumping the starter and running the lift pump will not get all of the air out and then the truck won't run. I have found that you need to loosen the banjo fitting on the supply line to the VP44 until fuel comes out there and then the air should be out of the filter canister. Just the experience I had with my truck.
