This subject may have already been discussed please forgive me if this is the case:

In the TDR issue 25 it is mentioned that the 24v (FS19519) fuel filter is interchangeable with the 12v (FS1253) fuel filter. It also states that the FS19519 is a much better filter "stopping dirt 1/2 the size of the 12v (FS1253) filter".

Is anyone using the FS19519 on a 12v truck? Wanted to make sure b4 I order a couple of them. Any problems with fit on a 12v with a Prime-Loc? Does anyone know if there is more restriction with the 24v filter?

fishjack,

The filter you are talking about is from the Prime Loc remote filter. Yes, it should screw right on. It's tight but should work. I tried it on my truck. I had to grind the flange off the water drain to make it work.

In other words you are using the FS19519 in place of the FS1253 in the OEM filter head location on a truck without a Prime-Loc.

Been to that site 100 times and never noticed the fuel filter info. According to that site on the 1996 the FS19519 and FS1253 will both work the only difference is the FS19519 is a Strata-pore.

I appreciate it, I will order the FS19519 and modify my WIF sensor to fit. Want the best filtration I can get. I was told that if you really go high on HP you will have too much restriction using the relocation kit. Have you heard that before??

Right now I am at about 330hp rear wheel on a dyno.

Many thanks

There has been a lot of debate about whether the Prime-Loc is restrictive, think the jury is still out.

I personally feel they are a waste of money. It's not all that hard to change the stock filter and the Prime-Loc sure gets in the way of other engine components more than the stocker.

In fact I know where an brand new Prime-Loc is for sale cheap, just PM.
