My friend has a 95 3500 that he uses for his welding truck and wants to get some sort of a relocation kit as well as eliminating the mechanical lift pump. Does anyone make such a setup and if so would appreciate any input. Keeping in mind that this is not for performance just ease of serviceability. Thanks,

mike

Sounds like what he's looking for is a Prime Loc. Unfortunately it's been posted that they don't make them anymore. As for replacing the mechanical pump, why?? It's more dependable than the electric - as a matter of fact if you ask the 24V crowd, they would probably rather have a mechanical lift pump than an electric. I've heard of very few going bad.

I think he was complaining about how long it took to prime as well as that it is really hard to reach. Im more familiar with the 3rd gen so i am not quite sure of the specifics. I lent him a couple issues of the tdr and he saw an ad for air dog and became interested. I was thinking that the prime loc would be just what he needed if they were still availible.

Did I read somewhere here that it's possible to prime the 12v fuel system by applying about 5 lbs air pressure to the tank? Joe G. probably knows how to do this. He knows everything. :-laf

You can use a section of an old broom handle to prime the pump... . Very easy to do and very easy to reach. Don't even have to bend over... .

I just bought a new mech pump from Cummins for my 94 ... . the primer bulb is much biger than stock ... . this thing is primed in like 4-5 pushes.
