Can any one tell me how I go about replaceing my fuel filter on my 02 diesel truck, " what steps I need to do?"

See the TDR Magazine, Issue 45, pages 68 & 69 for an easy step by step procedure.

My 01 is the same as your 02 so here is what I do

1. Have a clean can of diesel fuel, enough to fill the housing. (you can drain it off the housing if you want)

2. Use a socket and remove the cover.

3. Remove and replace the filter from the cover.

4. Put the new o-ring on the filter cover prior to putting the filter on.

5. Lube the o-ring with light oil or WD-40.

6. Fill the canister 7/8 of the way up.

7. Install the filter and cover. A small amount of fuel should over flow the canister, if it doesn't add more to the canister.

8. I usually do a bump start or two after this and make sure I have good solid fuel pressure.

9. Then start the truck and run it making sure everything is leak free.
