Took truck to dealer after Christmas for computer updates and it changed fuel filter life from 18% to 100%. I have 8300 miles on the truck so I changed both fuel filters today. However, when I tried to reset the fuel filter on the dash it won't change to 100%-it stays at 94%.. Any advice on how to reset other than following directions on dash? Thanks.

After searching online I still haven't figured out how to reset fuel filter life so I called the service mgr. at the dealer where the computer updates were done. He had no idea and said he'd have his tech look into it. Does anyone know how to reset other than holding right arrow on steering wheel to reset then pressing right arrow again to confirm?

Ok, sorry for not getting back sooner. Just changed the filters on my 2013, my truck had the up date re flash and when it was done it reset my Fuel filter life meter back to 100% good. So after about 3,000 miles give or take it was back down to 65% life. Ok, enough back history. After changing the filters I scrolled through the on dash menue brought up the fuel filter page it shows to reset hold the right arrow button down. Ok did that. Oh yea, key on engine running. The miles on the filter reset to zero (0) but it still showed filter life at 65%. Shut engine off re started still showing the same 0 miles but 65% life left. I put the truck in drive and took off while holding the reset (right arrow button) down and as soon as the engine rpm increased the filter life reset to 99%. I almost wonder if there is a pressure sensor after the fuel filters and the computer senses the pressure and sets the filter life on how much it drops when the engine load is increased?

I've tried it with truck off on and going down the road. I'm taking it back to dealer next Friday to get it reset. Thanks for sharing your experience.

According to the Factory Service Manual, the reset procedure is supposed to be:

  1. Vehicle in RUN with engine OFF (no RPM)
  2. Hold the right arrow (3) down to reset the monitor.

3. A pop-up window with the word "cancell" under an up arrow and above a down arrow will appear on the EVIC display.
4. Push the down arrow on the keypad. "OK" will replace "cancell" in the pop-up window.
5. Push the right arrow to confirm the reset. After a short delay, the fuel filter life will reset to 100%.

Took me a week to figure this out. J Dean

Did you do that with the engine off as it says on the DIS display, or did you start the engine at some point while holding the right arrow button down?
