Armed with the instructions offered here, a new owners manual, and a new Haynes service manual I changed my fuel filter... overkill you say, oh contraire!... took me 4 hours to get the truck started and very nearly taped a FOR SALE CHEAP sign on the truck... I followed the instructions expressly: filled the filter container to the top, cracked the correct banjo bolt to bleed it at the IP... at first I was uncertain as to whether to just turn the key to on (pump runs for 2 seconds) which I did playing it safe about 10 times... no fuel (minor frustration) repeat previous step... no fuel, so ok I'll "bump" the starter and let the key return to the on position on it's own (pump runs for 25 seconds) continued this for about 25 times... no fuel (very frustrated) OK... I'll stop cussing and be calm now... start the entire process over, remove filter canister and over fill it this time (making a large mess) and follow the above process again to the point of nearly shooting the truck to put it out of MY misery!!! Took the fuel pump I rigged to get fuel from the tank and hooked it to the "out" plug on top of the filter (removed the plug) and ran it it 'til I got about a gallon of fuel pulled through, put the plug in and retried the process... no fuel... to make an already long story short I ended up cracking a few injectors loose and cranked 'til I got fuel and it started, shut it off and tightened everything... now it's fine... WHAT WENT WRONG???
