On my new 90 I have a Wix fuel filter with no drain or oem WIF sensor. Plus the wiring harness for the sensor has been cut off. Since I change my fuel filter twice a year, only run about 6,000 miles a year, I'm not too worried about not having a wif sensor. What are my best options here? Buy a couple of the same Wix fuel filters or equivalent that are already on the truck? Hopefully a Fleetguard with no drain is available. Or order a wif sensor from Geno's and continue using the oem fs1232 Fleetguard fuel filter, but have no wiring harness? OR is there another type of FF drain available? Scott, what's on the industrial 5. 9's? Thanks, Bill.

If it was me I'ld get a filter with a drain at min. then when I could find a sensor & harness from a junk yard install it . but one does'nt require the other.

Bill,

I think I have an extra pigtail lying around that will fit the WIF sensor. Get a WIF sensor and install it, and I can mail you the pigtail. Heck, you probably have one around your parts house:D. May not hurt to see if the light works, either. Nothing comes on in the message center when you turn the key.

I wouldn't worry about the drain or the WIF sensor. I'll bet Fleetgurd will have a filter that will fit. If not, keep the Wix or whatever fits. I don't think you will have any problems.

Bill, a fleetguard FS1251 has a drain with a large knob. It makes it easy to turn, and is found on industrial engines. If you find a sensor, put it back on later. Most of the time I check it instead of waiting for the WIF light to come on, I rarely get water anyway. If you don't want a drain use a FF5052. Good luck :)

I don't have any filters in front of me, but I buy mine at a local diesel shop. They sell the filters with sensor/drain already installed or with just the opening. I'm not sure what the part numbers are but they're fleetguard. I usually get 5 regular filters and one with the sensor/drain and replace the sensor once a year or so. They aren't much more, maybe $5.

Thank ya sir. Thats what I'll get, I'll call Scheid up and see what price is compared to the 1252+ a WIF sensor from Genos.

Daniel might check into your parts in a few weeks or give ya a call.

I use the Baldwin BF1226. It has the drain built in to the bottom. I long ago removed the WIF sensor as I used that place in my dash for guages. SteveinAZ

These engines here use a frame mounted water seperator and simply a fuel filter on the engine.

The engine mount has no drain. Fleetguard FF5018
