Fuel Filter Water Sensor

Getting ready to do the fuel filter change for the first time on my 04. The manual states to clean the water sensor. Anything special here or do I just wipe off the sensor and install the new filter?

I just wipe off the sensor elements with a lint free rag, reinstall it and put in a new filter.
