fuel filter with glass bowl

Hope this is the right forum. I am looking for a fuel filter/water separator with a glass of plastic bowl on the bottom so you can visibly check for water in the fuel. Racor is a good one but they do not have a cross ref with the ones used on Dodge Ram. I have a 95 with Prime- Loc system so it is high enough to view the bowl. Any one got any ideas? Might be a problem hooking up the sensor on the bottom,tho.

I've often thought if I was having a water in fuel problem that I'd mount a filter with clear bowl on the frame back by the tank, it would be an easy matter to hook it up with hoses. Also easy to check and drain. If you go this route most any clear bowl filter will work. A water in fuel sensor isn't necessary if you drain it regularly.

Thanks to you guys for the prompt reply. Actually, I am looking for a spin on type that will fit on the original filter head. Racor makes one but not to fit the Cummins filter head. Both the Dahl and Amsoil are excellent but a little overkill for me now. I will keep looking. thanks all.

Guys I'd be careful in looking at a glass bowl. I probably should keep my mouth shut as I'm no expert and I agree that it would be nice to see the fuel for contanimants. But I have had bad experiences with glass see thru filters on gassers and off road vehicles. I have had two crack on a 4X4 truck quite a few years ago. I had one crack on an ATV allowing the mix to change and seized the piston. This was a race preped ATV and granted it was on the lean side. I know we don't see the vibration of an ATV, but the truck was not abused beyond normal off road hunting and fishing. Vibration over time seems to be the culprit. This is only my . 02, but it can happen.

I was going to suggest if you mount a glass type fuel filter on the frame near the fuel tank you should strongly consider a means of protection, such as a cover plate (and or skid plate).

fmj, as you, i'm not the expert, but i THINK the amsoil bowl is lexan. if you break lexan, you'd break a regular fuel filter.
