fuel filter

On the 06 the fuel filter has a 1 1/8 in nut on top. Question - How do you change the filter. ? Looks like the big nut is part of the whole top,or filter cover. Do you just back this nut off to expose the filter element?? Oo.

SHOULD be just like my 04. 5 turn the "nut" and the cap comes off. the filter will come out with the cap, i would advise draining the filter houseing off with the yellow petcock lever. it is less messy this way. might want to catch the diesel in a container, come out of the clear tube on the bottom down by the power rack and pinion for the steering.



the filter clips into the top. be carefull not to break the tabs. the new filter SHOULD have a new O ring for you to install on the cap as well. i didnt use it the first time i changed it out so i would have a spare if i ever needed it. it stays in the glove box. im just paranoid though.

I use old heater hose to temporarily extend the fuel drain line. Absolutely no mess. Don't forget to replace and lubricate the rubber oring.
