The good,bad and ugly

Smokin Diesels

needed a fuel filter last week before i went on a trip. what is the most anybody has paid for a filter???? mine was $42 and change!!! ouch:eek: this was from a dealer, not the best place to get parts i agree but i needed it then.

Genos Garage I think sells them for around $15?

Cummins also sells them for about the same.

Never ever buy parts from Dodge if ya don't have to, they gotta mark it up to make money.

Dealer Pricing

Pricing from the dealer here was $56 and change so you got lucky.

I have heard that dealers buy their filters from corporate who buys them from a distributor who buys them the manufacture so you have more mark up instead of the Geno's, Cummins, truck stops and other non-dealer stores that only pay the distribution folks.

Highest price paid so far is $18 now I pay $14 delivered to my door.

thanks for the info, sorry about not getting back sooner. i know the steeler is not the place to buy but i needed it then. bv is that delivered from genos or where? i need to get a few things from them anyway. here goes the credit card balance!:D

I priced one today for 13. 85 at O"reillys. Said it was a Wix brand. I'll prolly have to get it. Sounds like a good deal to me.

they want 65 canuck bucks at the stealer for a fuel filter here:mad:

I get three fleetguard fuel filters for that price from cummins and from what i've been told they are a better quality filter:D

The choice is clear

I get my oil & fuel filters from Fleetpride. Oil was 7. 49 & fuel was 14. 56 delivered to the door. I got 4 oil & 2 fuel and total with shipping was 69. 20. Jeff

Stratapore is the name of a fleetguard proprietary media. It can be used in either oil or fuel filters.
