How much do you guys pay for a fuel filter? I paid 24. 00 for mine at napa. I didn't realize that these things were made of gold. Then after I pull the fuel filter on my 97, put the new filter in the bowl, how do you guys fill the filter back up with fuel and reinstall it without making a monster mess? I can't even get mine out without laying it down sideways to get it out through all the crap. This is one piece of work that's for sure. For as much trouble as my 96 was at least I could remove the filter out the top without spilling all the fuel out of the cartridge.

Any info will be appreciated.

WDaniels,

I paid $15. 00 for the Fleetguard filter from a Cummins distributor. I don't know if the price difference can be attributed to the difference in filter types for our trucks 94-95-96 vs. 97-98. 5. One thing for sure is the filters are a pita to get off without spilling fuel all over the place. Oh well I guess it's just a wonderful attribute of these trucks:rolleyes:
