Does anyone use Napa Parts? I'm doing my first fuel filter change. Dodge wants $55 for it's Mopar Brand and Napa wants $12 for a Stratapore fuel filter for my 2001. Is it safe to use the Napa Brand Parts?

Any info would be greatly appreciated, Thanks.

NAPA fuel filters work for me. You can also order Fleetguard filters from Geno's or pick them up at a Cummins distributor.

Can't go wrong with the Fleetguard filters. They are available at every Cummins outlet for a decent price. The filter for the 2001 is an FS1268, and is around $10.

It's my understanding that whatever brand filter you buy it ought to filter down to 2 microns for 24 valve trucks. This is based on a TDR meeting we had out here at a place that rebuilds Bosch pumps. Gotta' protect your pump.

Do keep in account though, that the lower the micron rating the more it affects the flow rating. . so get a filter that is appropriate for your rating. If you are running extreme HP, you want the flow. I recommend installing another filter in the line. Go with a 15 micron in the first filter (before the stock one), then slap either 5 micron or below (pending on how much flow you need) in the stock canister. JMHO

I am getting ready to install a second filter in mine. I was advised to put a 15 micron first then put a 5 micron in the factory canister due to my HP upgrades. I am running DD2's along with an EZ. I was told that a filter below 5 micron will affect my power, because the flow is slowed down.

Again... just my $. 02

Thank Guys

All your suggestions help me decide on the Napa Gold filter (at this time). Since my first oil change I have found out that the PB truck shop carries Fleetguard filters for my truck. I think I'll go with Fleetguard on my next oil change.

P. S. Sorry for my tardy Thanks.
