fuel filters and injector myths?

Well I'll ask this again. Has anyone had the water in fuel light actually work? Lots of posts about ruined injectors and worse with never a mention before or after repairs about the WIF warning working!

Looks like AFE is coming out w/ a 3 micron filter for the stock. Advertising in July for release.

Is a single 3 micron filter too restrictive?

Was informed for years that to get in the 2 to 3 micron range and have enough flow the filter had to be larger in size. Maybe new technology? Can AFE give any insight how they are accomplishing this?
