Thanks for the the input all are very informative, but what I am asking do you think the FASS fuel pump and filter system is as good or better than factory fuel supply system. I normally keep a vehicle especially a diesel for a long time 200k miles plus so I am looking at the long term.

I don't think you can run the truck without the stock filters unless you somehow fool the truck into thinking it has filters.
It is difficult to answer this question because:

1) I don't know how you bypass the stock filters

2) I don't know why you would do it.... I know you think it would pay for itself in 60,000 miles, but I think you are going to spend more money than you think trying to get the truck to run without stock filters or fooling it into thinking it has stock filters.

I would say "Not Recommended"

Sorry for my part in the hijack! Second what Newsa said. Though I honestly don't know enough about the fueling system on my new truck. I do know that the FASS systems, though really good and reliable, can fail. I had one on my 02 and the motor failed. It was covered under warranty, which was great, but I still had down time.

I will say that it sure seems that A LOT more thought was put into the system on my 15 versus the 02! I say leave it alone.
