For those that are not aware, one supplier of our fuel filters is running a scam on Amazon. "Northern Lights Auto Supply" they are sending unwrapped knockoff fuel filters in a Mopar OEM packaging, so far all I have seen ,and read, its the front filter.

Athens dealership is where I have bought from on Amazon, and no issues there have been reported. So beware if you have purchased from Amazon thru Northern Lights Auto Supply. The top of the filter has no markings, like the OEM with the C ,and fleetguard on it.

I got this information off of another diesel forum.

I saw that as well.

I bought from National Fleet Parts Inc on Amazon and they were authentic. Just like when I bought from Athens Dodge.

Just wanted to let folks know National Fleet Parts Inc was good as well.

Good to know, can't be too careful these days .

Apparently now its both front, and back filters . They are knockoffs being put in the Mopar OEM packages ,and shipped out. Amazon was notified ,and they are investigating, but it appears Northern Light Auto Supply is shut down on Amazon.

great!...i just bought some from them...I'll have to check and figure out if they are real? They came in boxes and looked like the real thing. I'm not home tonight...but I will report back

Should I just return them? HELP? :(

I would think that is the prudent thing to do....and given the fact that Amazon has shut down Northern Lights, I imagine a refund would not be difficult.

As Cummins 2014 stated, Athens Dodge is a legitimate seller on Amazon. With over 295k miles on my 2014 RAM 3500, I have been through several sets of fuel and air filters. Athens Dodge has always offered excellent pricing on their OEM filtration products.

Thanks for the heads up. I have always used Athens as they usually have the best price but noticed the other day that "Northern Lights Auto Supply" was around $10 cheaper. Now I know why. Athen's has always been great and their customer service is nice too. I had asked about why the price fluctuation was so much from time to time and they answered back in probably 30 minutes letting me know that FCA was messing with them over volume pricing but they work to give the best prices they can. They are ALWAYS OEM direct filters and can't beat their prices. Just chaps my ***** that a set can be $70 one month the as high as $110 the next then anywhere in between. I hate to let filters sit around or I would have bought a couple of sets when they were @ $70. Guess I'll keep watch.

That's why I buy my filters from Geno's. Not always the lowest Internet price but you can rest assured you are getting the real thing.

I doubt you would get any warranty coverage if you ruin your injectors with knockoff filters. Not worth saving a couple of bucks...

If you read the one star filter reviews on Amazon you will see that a lot of people have complained about knockoffs.

I saw them as well just the other night and thought great even cheaper than Athens. Then as I was reading deep in there ad I saw it say it now meets some filtration standard just like the oem. So I bypassed them. My last purchase I got from Athens was 73.50 for the pair. Bought two sets. I only received one set. Emailed them and asked them what was up. They asked me to take a picture of what was inside the box and the outside of the shipping box showing the shipping label. 2 days later I received the other set. Wish I would have bought a few more sets at that price, haven't seen them that cheap since. Their current price of $85 still isn't bad at all compared to others. Though I do miss paying the $13 for the one in my 01.

I have bought thousands of $ of merchandise from Geno's over the years. BUT I can't justify spending so much more on the fuel filters.

Geno's are you listening???

update...got home and check the filters...the front was not wrapped in plastic, loose in box, loose O-Ring, no markings and no green foam on bottom.

Contacted seller and they offered to send the proper one, blamed it on the "dealer" they bought them from.

I oped for a full refund as I don't trust such and important part from them at this time. Back one was wrapped...but who knows. I didn't see Athens on the other sellers list, So I will pay more and get if from Geno's I guess.

Glad I ordered it early and didn't put that crap on my new truck...I would be really ****** if I had ran that filter.

Thanks guys...you saved me :)

Just got my filters ordered from Amazon, and the front filter was in a canister Mopar carton, ie. wrong stock number, knock off, not genuine. They came from Northern Lights, so I will lodge my complaint and return for a refund.

I purchased several sets from Athens. When I got them there were 4 of one filter and 2 of the other. I emailed and explained (with pic) and got the correct one and a shipping label to send the wrong one back.

Great customer service!

They are only sold separately. Fleetguard makes the engine mounted filter for Mopar. Racor makes the rear water separator for Mopar. They are the only filters you can be guaranteed meet specs. Baldwin also makes the rear water separator if you prefer them. They are a quality manufacturer and I'd bet a farm out west they meet or exceed factory specs. Dealers sometimes bundle the filters together at sale prices. However, as has been posted you want to make sure it's a known Ram dealer when buying online. Not everything is always as it seems.

I assume all the filters were correct ,but not in sets ???

I think what he meant was.....he received 6 filters total, but not exactly 3 sets. He may have received 4 fronts and 2 rears.....and needed one front returned and a rear swapped out, for example.

Thats what I was thinking, just wanted to make sure we don't have another vendor selling the wrong filters. Athens has always sent me the correct amount, and the correct filters.
