Just changed mine. Very easy, and the tool Geno's sells is worth it.

The rear filter needed drained a little more after breaking the seal as there is a check valve in the inlet that prevents full draining at first.

comrade! i dislike shipping cost too. however, keeping the purchase " in the family " ( genos ) is one preference i have. the other preference i have is using quality filters on my truck - keeping in mind i paid 50 k for it, and 2 or 5 bucks here or there wont keep me awake at night. idiots smoking weed and driving ( i live in colorado ) and or texting, smoking weed, and driving does keep me up at night.. :0 cheers comrade! happy friday

While we're on the subject of fuel filters, mine are over due by time, not mileage. I'm at 5800 miles on a 2018 truck. Any good arguement to ignore the time? I did my oil change a few weeks back, but it seemed more logical to do that based on time. But fuel filters? Can't really see them going bad just because they might be over a year old while in use.

I'm leaning towards changing them today just for peace of mind...100 bucks is cheap insurance i think.

I was not aware the Fuel Filters had a time limit. So I looked. My 2015 only calls for 15K miles or 12 months which I had missed. We have been put around 15K a year on it, so it gets two oil changes and filters once a year.

If your looking for cheap filters these will Do. IMO they are equal to OEM for filtration at half the cost.

The media used will not last as long as OEM and the absorbing media will cause limited use, if your changing regularly you will be OK.

Simply insane to use off brand fuel filters.

I have never heard of a "TIME" limit on fuel filters. My Son now out of warranty on his 15 has 25k on current Mopar filters with no issues.

Time on filters didn't make any sense to me either, but it's written that way in the maintenance schedule...

Unless he is running a fuel pressure gauge he will not be aware of any issues until it's too late.

Fuel filters have always had a time limit. The media can degrade over time. I never went longer than 18 months on the filters on my 05, regardless of mileage.

Do you really believe these filters are that bad, Provide some evidence, other then just condemning them with keystrokes.

Tested several filters over the decades and found most misleading and deceptive labeling. Myself and a handful of others requested Cat to change their filter Labeling and come clean, They did.

The canister Mounted filter can be had for $18.00 W/O the private label. There are suppliers that sell bulk Quantities under private labels that are the same filter as OEMs and considerably less Cost.

Believing that the Factory system will stop contamination is tantamount to wishful thinking. The system designed to filter fuel Poor or bad.

Dump in 10oz of water & 3oz of mixed hard material at 5Mic Per 36 Gallons and report your findings on filter efficiency.

Now warranty should be consider in Filter Purchasing, I would recommended to stay with OEM, During that time frame, and that still does NOT change the Fact of over priced.

Kt, If someone removed his engine mounted Filter and inspected it with surgeon glasses and found No material , any evidence of water or debris should it be tossed in the trash just because of Time?

I've seen people claim this in other posts over the years regarding filters. How do you really know the bulk filters being sold under private labels really are the same as the OEM? I'm sure this happens - at the end of the day, the marketing wanks are involved... but how do you really know? None of that information would be easily available even if you knew somebody working in the plant that manufactures the filter. At the end of the day, unless you can find crossover part numbers or whatnot, why make the claim they're the same. Sort of like the Fleetguard brand....we all know they make the Mopar oil filter and Racor (I think?) is making the Mopar fuel filters...we know that - someone at some point found that information out to be fact. But to say Knock-off-Brand-X is the same as, say, a Racor (or Mopar or whatever), that seems to be a stretch. Where are the documents that say this?

I'll buy Mopar as well...even if they are twice the price.

JohnM45, Over the years I have bee contracted to provide certain services to let say X company this has allowed me to have access to much of the internal operations, gather many friendships and sources. Just this pass week I saw X company labeling their filters locally to their Private Name. The distribution center services over 50% of truck Shops and private Shops trucking companies in the five State Area. Most of these companies do fuel and Oil Analysis, and service according to the results, We are talking $millions$ in liability if these filters DID not meet OEM spec's.
This X Company provides the Lube and filters for Big Companies like Penske, Ryder, Enterprise Etc.
I sell Penske Parts also, and If My stuff was NOT equal to, or better than OEM they would drop Me ASAP.
