That's a far cry from recommendation, IMO.
Please answer the question Should someone toss a perfectly good filter that's thoroughly inspected and found to be in New condition in the trash on Time frame only.

Kt, If someone removed his engine mounted Filter and inspected it with surgeon glasses and found No material , any evidence of water or debris should it be tossed in the trash just because of Time?

First of all, my response was to Ron about never having heard of a time based fuel filter change interval, if he read his owners manual, he would have heard of one.
Secondly, anybody who would go through that much time and trouble (remove and inspect....with surgeons glasses) to avoid the cost of replacing the fuel filter they just removed....is probably too cheap to own a Diesel truck.

Third, I made no post for or against the time interval for fuel filter removal. You just made a recommendation for a fuel filter, then claimed you didn't. Then you reply as if I made a claim....when I actually didn't. o_O

Do you really believe these filters are that bad, Provide some evidence, other then just condemning them with keystrokes.

Tested several filters over the decades and found most misleading and deceptive labeling. Myself and a handful of others requested Cat to change their filter Labeling and come clean, They did.

The OP ask for cheaper filters I provided the link.

Were did I recommended them?

The canister Mounted filter can be had for $18.00 W/O the private label. There are suppliers that sell bulk Quantities under private labels that are the same filter as OEMs and considerably less Cost.

Believing that the Factory system will stop contamination is tantamount to wishful thinking. The system designed to filter fuel Poor or bad.

Dump in 10oz of water & 3oz of mixed hard material at 5Mic Per 36 Gallons and report your findings on filter efficiency.

Now warranty should be consider in Filter Purchasing, I would recommended to stay with OEM, During that time frame, and that still does NOT change the Fact of over priced.
By providing the link......that’s almost a recommendation in itself.

Do as I have......contact the linked manufacturer and see what reply YOU get when you inquire about micron ratings on those turds. Perhaps afterwards we can compare notes.

Ohhhhhh.....I’m sorry. There won’t be any notes to compare, as that manufacturer won’t reply to you with any valid, concrete information.

Seems like you’re blowing a lot of smoke up the manufacturer’s ASSSSSS (with keystrokes) for not having done any due diligence in potentially recommending sub-par fuel filters to a member, whether in warranty period or outside warranty period.

For me.......running premium filtration products outside of warranty is as important, if not MORE important, simply due to the exposure of a potentially expensive repair bill.

I will response to post 43 First, I must be to cheap to own a diesel Pickup, thanks for the update.

Post 44 Equal being same value.Recommendation is a suggestion of best course of action. The OP truck is under warranty if he want less cost filters and risk a possible warranty problem I already stated its risky and his decision.

KT, Thiers's 100,000+ diesel Trucks on the road with 100,000s of miles with NON-OEM Filters. Its been a while since I tested fuel but here's My OA , with Mighty filters. Private Label.

Not sure why your having a one sided argument here. Remember, I have not said one word for or against name brand filters nor the change interval.

Oh yeah, you are wrong, the Velociraptor IS the best dinosaur. o_O

I can see marketing is still pegging the LOM, Some sites Ifjf filters and others reviews rated higher than the Mopar, No way is it better/superior than OEM in filtration.
Heck a NON-Label filters $36.99 with free shipping. The cage for the frame mounted filter is made of What material?

Although the media does not have the fur like ( engine mounted) the OEM does, it does not mean its Mic is higher.

You would simply have to test them, it would take 2-3 Days for me, just for the setup. I just don't have the time , I'm still working on the DEF stuff and that looks like FEB Now.

RACOR is the gold standard in Marine applications for one. We are very lucky to have such a filter under the bed.
I change both of mine at 15k. The engine mount LOOKS nearly new every change.

Upon clicking on the link to the fuel filters above, I found it hilarious that many reviewers all had the mentality that “all is well...for now” and have no clue that although there’s no problem today, that might not be the case for the future.

Additionally......the broken English, and outright stupid product description probably describes the filter quality as well. I tried to underline what I felt was funny in the screenshot below (full size just for @Cummins12V98 ) :p

Looks like you’ve found some “Chinglish” product details. Good stuff.

I use used filters all the time. Usually when my air filters are dirty, I just flip them over to the clean side. They go twice as long that way. It's like getting filters for 1/2 price!

I liked this part best.

New & used (2) from $31.96. Ok, who in the HE!! would buy USED filters???

GS, thanks!!!

It’s actually one of the best Amazon secrets. Used - Like New and being sold by the Amazon Warehouse is nothing more than a returned item with a scratch on the box... 99% of the time. I try to buy “used” whenever I can. I’ve never actually received a used item and generally save 15%, or more.

It does seem backwards for fuel filters, but no more so than actually thinking they are selling used filters soaked in diesel.

Todd. How is the average owner supposed to know the difference between OEM quality and junk? They don’t have the experience or connections you do. What is your recommendation? Run OEM or roll the dice with an unknown supplier based on price?
