This might not be the right forum for this post, but I guess it's a good place to start. Has anyone noticed the smell of raw unburned fuel in the cab after coming to a stop? I haven't noticed any fuel leaks on ground and it doesn't seem to be much of a problem UNLESS you count having you wife always bit4c*#g about it every time your are in the truck together. Then it becomes a Biblical PMS issue " Mary rode Joseph's *** all the way to Jerusalem!" Any help would be appreciated.

You might check your blow by hose which is in the front of the truck and try relocating it to behind the front of the firewall. This might be where the fumes are comming from.

Thanks. I was looking at earlier posts under oil instead of fuel and found that this apparently is an ongoing problem. It wasn't a problem on my '99 and that was what was throwing me a curve.

Next time you get back to the stable, get under truck and feel top of fuel tank, to see if it is wet with fuel. Also check fuel return line fittings. may be tight enough at idle not to leak, but when running, especially at slow speeds, could leak. Probably wouldn't see this as spot on driveway

Check all fuel fittings for dampness, they dont have to be wet. One drop of diesel fuel smells like a hundred.
Check the fuel filter lid and verify the filter drain is seated, Check the hp injector lines; and fittings at the injector tubes on the head as they can seep but very hard to see as the Cummins glaze coating is also very shiney.
You can't smell whats not there.
Now for the really bad news!!!!!!!! #ad

If you fueled up and got some diesel on your hands from a fuel nozzel, got in and grabbed the steering wheel it will take a long time for the smell to leave the leather. Same thing if you got diesel on your boots from the puddle on the drive cus the guy before you spilled diesel and now it is in the carpet or floor mat.
I wear heavy leather gloves w/ gauntlets when fuling ( keep em under the rear of the front seat agenst the seat track ) and watch my step. I learned the hard way.

Did you recently get an oil change? The newer oils have this funky odor that might easily be confused with diesel.
If this is your problem, it'll go away in a few hundred miles.

I relocated the infamous "pill box" this weekend. I used 4 feet of 3/4" id hose and 2 push in 90's and one 2"x7/16" bolt. I cut the original hose in the straight section below the 1/2 round top and pushed in a 90 turn securing it with tie wrap and ran the hose (sloping downward) to the back of the engine at the bell housing. There I bolted the "pill box", in a spare hole in the bell housing, with the small section of original hose protruding from the top and inserted the other 90 and tie wrapped it. So far it seems to work. Only time will tell.

I've never smelled diesel fumes in my cab. I did consider adding the bottle to the blow-by tube, but I decided I liked the wax on wax off effect the drippings gave to the underside of my truck. #ad

You could just tell your wife that your truck is trying to one up her perfume #ad
