There was a guy on here that sold a kit to fix the fuel gauge on my 97' 3500. I think it was a new washer and something else. I can't find his info. Anyone know what I am talking about?
I'm putting a new bed on my truck and this would be the perfect time to try and fix the gauge...
For sure the right time. I have the same problem, just got a new sender from Jack Miller Jeep Kia in Kansas City MO for $41. 40. Sure hard to beat that, now I got to run the tank down a bit so I can drop it and install.
I repaired my sending unit. It worked fine except if was off a bit. No more dead spots and stuff like that. It just was not correct. Too much work for too little results. I replaced it with a new one. If you fix yours and find out later than it's not right then you will have to remove the bed again.
I tried the kit- worked for about a year & then same old, same old. I'm not going to bother with it any more- I'll just go by the odometer until Gitchesum offers me a truly obscene amount of money & I sell him the truck!
I don't know about a kit but I did this fix on mine years ago and over 200k miles and it's still working great. Mine would drop to 0 and chime then come back up.
