Airdog/FP Gauge question...

I just purchased and installed ISSPRO EV2 HPCR and fuel pressure gauge (14055). The HPCR works great. The question I have is on the fuel pressure gauge. When I turn on the ignition the gauge comes up to 10 psi. It doesn't matter whether it is in the driveway or going down the road but when I run the truck up to 2300 rpm the fuel pressure gauge only drops about 1/2 psi. Is this a normal reading? I read some posts where under load the pressure dropped 4-5 psi.

I double checked all of the wiring and isolated the sending unit and it appears to be working fine.

I searched the forum to find out how to install the gauge and found a few threads where people were removing the lower banjo bolt on the fuel filter and attaching their sending units there. The Kit I received has a Vulcan fuel line and I attached it to the bottom of the fuel filter and the sending unit is attached to the other end. Is this a typical installation or should I be using some other location?

Thank you

Richard

TurboCanScoot, Sorry to hijack your thread but i'ver ben contemplating purchasing the two ISSPROs you got. How was the Rail Pressure installation on the engine accomplished?

Thanks Ducman82. I was not sure if something was amiss.

DaveHess, The HPCR was easier to install that the fuel pressure gauge. Geno's will set you up. The HPCR kit comes with a harness that connects between the HPCR sensor and the factory harness. The only thing I didn't like about the kit were the connectors to the gauges. You have to make sure you force the wires down into the pins on the connector or you will not get a good connection. Per the instructions you can daisy chain the the ground, 12V, and dimmer for two gauges. That is what I did. You will also have to order the vulcan hose kit. It comes with all of the fittings you will need for the fuel presure gauge. I made sure I used my torque wrench. You dont want to over torque the banjo bolt. I soldered and heat shrinked all of my connections.

I am getting a smarty box next week and planning on having a transmission built some time in the next year. Either a goerend or a suncoast.

that is the way to connect it up and most of ours run about 7 to 9 psi, change your filter when it drops below 4 psi under load, it will filter better than a new one once the larger holes in the media start to fill up

Richard, Thanks for the comeback and photo. You and I are on the same path. The gauges will be ordered and installed in June along with my FASS I ordered before Christmas, followed by a Smarty Jr, and finally either I am going to get a BD convertor and Valve Body or save a little longer and go see Dave Goerend. Haven't decided there yet but it needs to be done. Then I'm done..... really..... honest I am... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... :) BTW, this is my 340th post. Which coincidently is the same as the cubic inches of my favorite SB Mopar Monster!!! (Sorry, random thought there!)

Guys I just installed those 2 guages as well. I did a fuel tank sump pickup to an Air Dog. I used an fittings at the cp3 to mount the sending unit. I read 35psi at idle and 28 wot. I also did not particularly care for the plugs on the back of the guages. They do seem like nice guages though

Is it a mechanical gauge?

On mine I will idle at 8. 5-9psi. Cruise at 7. 5-8 psi and about 5-5. 5 psi under WOT, thats stock fueling with the psi sender between my 2um filter and the CP3.

So are the DiPricols gone??? Not one in the last Geno's catalog but they are still on the website. Any Info???
