Can anyone tell me what I might look for on my 2000 Ram 2500 diesel pick-up. I have only 83. 000 miles on it and for the last week I have some sort of problem with the "FUEL GAUGE", here it goes. :-{}

I filled it up with fuel took about ( 20 gal's) Brought it home and let it set over the week end in about 95>>>99 degree weather. ) I have driven about 230 miles and it still goes all the way to full when the key is on. Is there any re-set button or anything I might check short of takeing off the tank? Has anyone had the same problem. ? I was told sometime the gauge just sticks, and if I re fuel the tank up it might help. Is this so? Any help BOB or any one ? Please send any help to ( -- email address removed --)

fuel sender in tank. lots of problems with them. you have to drop the tank or lift the bed. go to search and type in fuel gauge, you will get lots of reading.

I know how that goes, except mine was broken on the other end! I was coming home from a weekend trip showing off my beasty cummins to my dad when the FP gauge flat dropped, and the rig stalled on a 10% grade!!! Thought my LP took a crap again, turns out the gauge lied when it said I had 1/4 tank left. I still dont trust it even though the sending unit is now fairly new. Never go below 1/4 if possible!
