Is anyone having problems with their fuel gauge? My fuel gauge drops to empty and the low fuel indicator comes on when I have about a half of tank of fuel left. I refueled twice since this problem started and the gauge works fine with more than a half tank of fuel.

Mine goes real slow until 1/2 then it drops fast. I recently waited until the warning light came on (to install the vent kit), and drove one more mile to home. When I dropped the tank, it had only 4 gallons left. Out of those 4 gallons, I don't know how much of that is "useable". I'm glad I didn't run it that close when towing. The overhead said 28 miles to empty.

Blu-meanie,

Does your fuel gauge drop to empty with-in a few seconds with less than a half tank of fuel? My fuel gauge drops really fast (i. e. from 1/2 to empty in a few seconds) when I have about a half of tank of fuel. I think the bottom half of my fuel sending unit has an open circuit and the unit needs to be replaced. I am still under warranty so I will get the ******* fix my fuel gauge problem.

No, it goes about 300 miles to half, then drops about 1/4 in the next 60 miles (towing). I haven't been going much below 1/2 not towing because of the fuel price shock after filling.

Mine did it once last summer. Was about 50 miles from home at the end of our trip and "ding-ding", zero fuel per guage. Pulled over, turned engine off, checked for holes in tank since I knew I had at least 1/2 tank, started back up and everything was registering normal. Threw two codes, can't remember which ones, something about low and high signal from sending unit. Went to dealer and they couldn't find a problem, but said they have heard of it before.

I have a 70 gallon Transfer Flow tank in the bed of my rig and was concerned that the aux tank pump wouldn't stop pumping at 3/4 tank if the sending unit wouldn't register it. So far all is OK.
