Hope this is in right place. I have 01 Dodge Ram , bone stock, and plan to install a Racor suction type fuel/water separator between tank and lift pump. Filter is rated 30gph max flow?? Is that adequate flow rate? Or marginal? Thanks to all you fuel experts.

I am going to give a thumbs down, figure how much fuel your truck will burn in an hour under load at road speed and allow for the fact that somewhere around 70% of the fuel is returned to the tank and not burned.......and you can not risk loosing any flow to keep the vp-44 cooled and lubed

Fuel gph

If I remember correctly the oem filter is rated at 100 gph.
Thank you to both replies. I will use a filter of minimum 100 gph for a primary .
So nice to be able to draw on the wealth of knowledge available to members.
Again, my thanks.

Tmar04, I misquoted the correct number for oem filter gph. I quoted you the gph of the OEM fuel pump, which is 100 gph. The oem fuel filter is rated at 60 gph, (10 micron fleetguard for my truck). Sorry about that.
