2nd Gen Non-Engine/Transmission fuel guage problem

My truck is '98 2500 5-speed. When I'm just sitting still, my fuel guage drops down to empty and starts dinging at me. When I start driving, it comes back and never drops off when I'm driving. Possibly related to this is my oil guage also drops off. Rarely happens, maybe once a week unlike my fuel guage which happens almost every time I stop. Hopefully both are just loose wires some where, nothing serious. Haven't had time to start checking wires, anyone have a tip as to where to start.

Does the FG mostly do this whern the tank is at lower levels? It sounds like the typical sending unit on the fritz thing, these trucks are notorious for the sending units going south. Not sure if there is a relation to the oil gauge (maybe a power supply thing)

Just out of curiosity, are you running any fuel additives i. e. mystery oil, power service etc?

No I don't use any additives, and this happens at all fuel levels. Hopefully I get some time soon, its getting annoying.
