Fuel guage quit

My fuel guage on my 05 went to empty and the light came on just after filling up . Every once and a while it will read correct then back to empty . I pulled the tank and the sender sweeps from 220 ohms to 20 ohms , there is battery voltage and a good ground at the connector and I don't use the lift pump in the tank or the suction line (Have a FASS 150). I hooked the sender up when I had it out and moved the float arm and the guage never left empty . Does anybody have an idea where to go from here ? Thanks

Hooked up the scanner and it said fuel level is 72% ( The tank has 5 gallon of fuel in it )and an APS relay output circuit open . Did a cluster sweep test by holding in the milage trip button and turning the key on , all the guages swept like normal . It came up with a code AD16 . Can anyone explain these ??

Simple answer. Dodge makes bad fuel guages!! Always have.
