Anyone have a part # for the gasket on the fuel heater/ prefilter. Trying to buy thru Case-IH dealer. Thanks, jps

Just went through the search, myself. Results are that there is no individual gasket or parts available, but Dodge sells a kit for $42, part #04762962 and Cummins sells a kit for $6, part # 3845400-S. Case may be able to cross the Cummins part number.

This is a start, Tom

Eliminate the fuel heater, you don't need it. I put a elbow on the lift pump and put a 3/8's inline fuel filter from my CaseIH dealer. Now it is cheap and easy to change the pre filter and I don't have to worry about fuel leaks.

Do you still have something that takes up the space between the lift pump and the engine block? If you don't the lift pump push rod may be too long and damage your lift pump eventually.

It sounds like he left it in place, but just doesn't use the heater/strainer anymore. Instead an inline filter to prefilter the fuel before the lift pump.

I've tried to buy the prefilter strainer and o-ring kit but they don't recognize the part numbers I've found on here. These particular cummins parts guys are difficult to deal with... Anyone know of an online source?

The heater and strainer are separate pieces. . . when people get rid of the heater they usually take the hockey puck out then reinstall the prefilter in its place. Basically taking the patty out of your cheeseburger :-laf
