Archived Fuel heater removal on a 96!

I am in the middle of cleaning out my fuel strainer and bowl and am trying to take out the fuel heater(just to check it and the o-ring) but it seems to be stuck on there. Looking at the limited documentation it seems that there is an insert that could be holding it on. The fuel heater is loose but held from spinning by the shape of the housing. Even with some force it won't move downward (off the insert???????).



So how should it be removed?

8mm allen wrench in the middle of the big shiny screw at the bottom of the fuel heater.

Awesome thanks I wish the #$%*(! haynes would say that in the first place... . ha ha serves me right for not spending the $ on a service manual. It was getting

dark so I couldn't see anyway... She'll be off tomorrow

... actually it turned out to be a 5/16 allen head that removed the threaded insert holding the heater on the head. Problem solved!

Interestingly the heater elements both look really different...

I took a couple of pics but can't work out how to post them up here...
