Engine/Transmission (1994 - 1998) Fuel/Heater Strainer?

I have a leak at my fuel heater/strainer. It is leaking from the side where the electrical harness plugs into the fuel canister. I checked on a rebuild kit for the fuel heater but it doesn't include the gasket that seals the electrical plug. Is there a replacement for that seal and can it be replaced. It seems like a real waste to replace a perfectly good fuel heater when only a small gasket is leaking. But nevertheless it is introducing air into my system so I will replace the entire unit if there is no other way. Thanks for your help!

As I mentioned in my reply to your PM, the gasket at the electrical plug is meant to keep dirt and water out and not fuel in. There should not be fuel at the connector, it is dry. Your fuel heater is cooked, literally. The plastic around the element has melted and it allowing fuel into the area of the plug. The heating element must be replaced.



Becareful because many Cummins shops will tell you the element is not available separately, they probably don't even know it is, and they will try to sell you the whole assembly.

I just dug up my invoice. GAmes already came through with the PN's. As far as pricing, I paid $49. 39 for the harness and $35. 18 for the heater element.
